Goals:
“To conduct assessment, research and training related to independent and creative Life Learning built on physical and mental health, and, as such, make contributions to the development of social education.” (Articles of Endowment, article 4)

1. Management and operation of “Life Learning Members” Programs
2. Assessment and support of organizations providing certifications
3. Additional support activities:
  • International Exchange Programs
    Japan management office for the Harvard University all-male a cappella group the “Krokodiloes”
  • Conferring Grants and Scholarships
  • Support for Doctoral Studies

History
April 1983 –
Foundation established. Located in Ashigawa Memorial Hall at 1-46-1 Shimo-Ishiwara, Chofu, Tokyo. First foundation Chair: Saburo Karube.
April 1986 –
Foundation moves to Amakasu Building (5&6F) located at 2-9-8 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Taeko Matsuda appointed Chair.
July 1999 –
Foundation moves to Kazan Building (8F) located at 3-2-4 Kasumigaseki, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
March 2007 –
Foundation moves to current location in Shin-Toranomon Jigyo Kaikan (2F) located at 1-1-21 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
May 2018 –
Foundation moves to current location in Toranomon Jigyo Kaikan (9F) located at 1-1-20 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
August 2022 –
Foundation moves to current location in Toranomon Jigyo Kaikan (8F) located at 1-1-20 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
